Fear not the pursuit of Justice but the Tyranny that Apathy feeds.
We as a nation have already survived the trivialization of the impeachment process as it became the final act of a politically motivated taxpayer funded witch-hunt. We can well survive the employment of this grave process for the purpose for which it was intended... to protect the people and the Constitution of the United States of America from those who would abuse the power and position of their high office and betray both their oath of office and the sacred trust therein. The Legislative branch was provided this power for a reason and fails in its Constitutional duty if it fails to invoke it now when true criminality is so evident.
lost and found scrawl
I am cleaning out my desk today. In the bottom of a drawer I found this... I believe it to be at least two years old.
headless as a baptist
horny as a john
drunk on indiscretion
blind to the coming dawn
prowling like a predator
coy as a femme fatale
swilling a cup of courage
as the beat beat beat bangs on

Will we stand for such an insult to all patriots living and dead?
This is what I have just faxed to my Congressional Representative.
______________________________________________
On the eve of Independence Day, the commemoration of our nation’s freedom from the tyranny of a power-mad ruler whose government gave no heed to the thoughts and desires of the citizenry, comes word that the President of the United States has delivered a stinging insult to that legacy and to the American people and their justice system. By commuting the prison sentence of Lewis “Scooter” Libby President Bush has all but admitted to the complicity of the Bush/Cheney administration in the criminal outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame and the obstruction of justice implicit in the ensuing cover-up. If we are to even pretend that this is still a nation ruled by its laws and not the whim and fiat of a cabal of corrupt elites we have no choice but to begin impeachment proceedings. I urge you to co-sponsor Rep. Dennis Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment, H.Res. 333 and to please add your public voice to the growing chorus calling for justice and accountability.
Please write your Representative. Demand accountability.
All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent. ~ Thomas Jefferson
